কম্পিউটারে বাংলা লেখার অনেক গুলো পদ্ধতি আছে। সাধারণত বাংলা লেখার জন্য কম্পিইটারে কিছু সফ্টওয়ার যেমন অভ্র, বিজয় ইত্যাদি ইনস্টল করতে হয়।এসব সফ্টওয়ারে বিভিন্ন লেআউট যেমন Avro Easy, Bornona, Probhat, Bengali Inscript, Phonetic, Click n Type layout ইত্যাদি ব্যবহার করে সহজেই বাংলা টাইপ করা যায়। সফ্টওয়ার ইনস্টল করা ছাড়াও ইন্টারনেট ব্যবহার করে বিভিন্ন ওয়েবসাইটে বাংলা লেখা সম্ভব। English-bangla.com ওয়েবসাইটেও সফ্টওয়ার ইনস্টল ছাড়া বাংলা লেখা যায়।

Phonetic (ফনেটিক):

Phonetic হলো উচ্চারণের সাথে সঙ্গতি রেখে বানার পদ্ধতি। যেমন- ‘আমি’ শব্দটি ইংরেজি অক্ষরে ‘Ami’ লিখতে হয়। এভাবেই phonetic পদ্ধতিতে বাংলা লিখতে হয়। Phonetic পদ্ধতিতে বাংলা টাইপ করার জন্য আলাদা ভাবে কীবোর্ড মুখস্থ করার প্রয়োজন নেই। ২-৫ মিনিট চর্চা করে যে কেউ বাংলা লিখতে পারবে।

যা যা মনে রাখতে হবে:

১. ইংরেজি ছোট অক্ষর এবং বড় অক্ষর (Small Letter and Capital Letter) এর দিকে লক্ষ্য রাখতে হবে।
যেমন: small ‘y’ চাপলে ‘য়’ হয় আর capital ‘Y’ চাপলে যফলা হয়।

২. যুক্ত বর্ণ লেখার নিয়ম জানতে হবে। সাধারণত হসন্ত (্) যোগে দুটো বা তার বেশি বর্ণকে যুক্ত করতে হয়। Phonetic নিয়মে প্লাস (+) দিয়ে হসন্ত হয়।

যেমন: 
k+l= ক্ল;    s+t= স্ট;    S+N= ষ্ণ;    T+T+b=ত্ত্ব;    Ng+k=ঙ্ক;    Ng+g=ঙ্গ ;   j+NG=জ্ঞ;    NG+c=ঞ্চ;    NG+j=ঞ্জ;    NG+C=ঞ্ছ;    N+d=ণ্ড ইত্যাদি।

Click n Type লেআউট:

বাংলা লেখার জন্য সোজাসোজি আরেকটি উপায় হলো ‘Click n Type লেআউট’ যেখানে বাংলা অক্ষরের একটি layout দেওয়া থাকে এবং কাক্ষ্ণিত অক্ষরের উপর click করে বাংলা লিখা হয়।

যা যা মনে রাখতে হবে:

১. যুক্ত বর্ণ লেখার নিয়ম জানতে হবে। সাধারণত হসন্ত (্) যোগে দুটো বা তার বেশি বর্ণকে যুক্ত করতে হয়।

যেমন:
